GUT & DIGESTIVE HEalth

“All disease begins in the gut” Hippocrates

Boosting our gut health is one of the most effective ways to enhance overall health and wellbeing. Without a well functioning digestive system, the rest of the body cannot thrive and symptoms start to emerge. Gut health has become a bit of a buzz word in recent years with lots of confusing information online and in the media. But what is gut health?

Gut health covers normal digestion, absorption of food and nutrients, immune function and stable gut microbiome. Micro what I hear you say? The gut microbiome are trillions of bacteria living in our gut and imbalances not only affect our gut and digestive function but contribute to many other conditions including depression, anxiety, weight issues and Type 2 diabetes.

Digestive symptoms like bloating, gas, reflux, diarrhoea, constipation and irritable bowels are very common and the key to resolving these issues is to find the root cause of the problem rather than treating symptoms. I always consider my client’s gut health even if they don’t have digestive issues as poor gut health impacts our whole body. Whether it’s an occasional inconvenience or a debilitating daily occurrence, you don’t have to put up with ongoing gut symptoms.

You might have had tests with your GP and been given the all-clear but are still suffering. You’re at the point where you know there’s something more going and want to understand what’s happening and what you can do about it. You feel like your stomach is now ruling your life and your symptoms determine what you’re able to do that day and how you feel.

Restoring your gut health is the key to overall health and wellbeing!
